Fried Sandwiches
No actual recipe here but the secret to great toasted sandwiches every bit as good as toasted sandwiches made in one of those machines that clutter up the kitchen without the machine!
The trick of these sandwiches which are made in a non-stick frying pan is to butter the bread on the outside. It is probably best to include cheese in some form for the "melt". Good combinations include tuna, mozzarella and capers; cooked bacon and a cheddar type cheese; smoked/cured ham and goats cheese; thinly sliced feta, tomatoes and black olives.
